What is Kala Samāgam

Where hands tell
the story

In a world of mass-produced everything, Kala Samāgam is a breath of something real. It's a carefully curated gathering of India's most compelling handmade brands — makers who pour intention into every piece they create.

This isn't a bazaar. It's a confluence — of craft and culture, of maker and seeker, of the hand-wrought and the deeply considered. Every stall holds a different universe, and the person behind the craft is never more than an arm's reach away.

Curated by Baksatales & Conscious India — bringing together India's artisan ecosystem and buyers who value craft provenance and intentional living.

"Every object that passes through a maker's hands carries a fragment of their world. Samāgam is where those worlds meet yours."

— Baksatales, on why we do this

The Experience

What waits for
you inside

Four days of craft, culture, and human connection. Here's what the room looks like inside.

Craft workshops · Live stage · Discovery trail · People's Choice · Live mural

01

Curated Discovery

Every brand is hand-selected for craft integrity, design clarity, and narrative depth. You won't find these names in a mall — and that's precisely the point.

02

Maker Encounters

The potter, the weaver, the perfumer — they're right there. Ask how the glaze was mixed. Watch a technique live. Buy something and know its origin story by heart.

03

Gifting Transformed

From corporate hampers to wedding trousseaux to the perfect 'just because' — every gift here carries meaning that mass production simply cannot manufacture.

04

A Sensory World

Thoughtful stall curation, ambient sound, the smell of wax and wood and earth. Kala Samāgam is designed to feel like stepping into another world entirely.

05

Live Workshops & Stage

Craft workshops — pottery, weaving, Kintsugi — send participants directly onto the vendor floor with their hands already in the craft mindset. Live performances at 8:30 PM create a post-show crowd surge into stalls at peak energy.

06

Gamified Discovery Trail

Most visitors at an exhibition follow the same path — main aisle, first few stalls, exit. The trail is a structured route that takes visitors through every zone of the event in a single evening. Stalls that would otherwise be skipped get seen. The game mechanics make exploration feel like discovery, not a chore.

Five zones. One room.

The gifting moods
of Kala Samāgam

The event is organised around five gifting moods. Each stall is placed within one — so the right buyer finds you at exactly the right moment.

For Makers & Brands

Is your brand
a good fit?

  • You make or co-create handmade, design-led products
  • Your brand has a clear aesthetic identity and story
  • You create for home, lifestyle, fashion, wellness, or gifting
  • You're ready to show up in a curated, premium setting
  • You want to connect directly with buyers, gifters & collaborators
Applications go through a selection process. We curate for craft diversity, design quality, and a complementary brand mix — so the floor feels orchestrated, not random.

Quick Answers

You asked,
we answered

Why was the event moved to September? +
Our original dates fell during peak summer in the NCR. After hearing concerns from vendors — many of whose handmade products are sensitive to extreme heat — we moved to September when the weather is kinder. Kala Samāgam is about the best possible experience for makers and visitors alike.
Who can apply as a vendor? +
Any handmade, design-led brand with a clear product story. We welcome ceramics, textiles, jewellery, home décor, stationery, beauty & wellness, food, and gifting brands. Applications are reviewed for design quality, brand identity, and variety of craft on the floor.
Is visitor entry free? +
Yes. Kala Samāgam is completely free to enter for visitors across all four days. Walk in, take your time, come back tomorrow.
Where is the event being held? +
Kala Samāgam 2026 is at M3M 65th Avenue, Gurugram. September 3 is an invite-only soft launch evening. The main public sales event runs September 4, 5 & 6 — doors open at 2pm, through 11pm each day.
Can I source for corporate or bulk gifting at the event? +
Absolutely. Kala Samāgam is one of the best places in India to source for thoughtful corporate gifting. Meet 50+ makers in person, discuss custom orders, bulk pricing, and dedicated delivery. Many brands specialise specifically in bespoke gifting — and there's nothing like choosing in person.
Beyond the Weekend

Most exhibitions end
when the lights go out

We built the event to be the beginning of something — not the whole thing.

Kala Samāgam · Baksatales Marketplace · Thinking in 3D · Conscious India Marketplace

Step 01

Kala Samāgam

Four days. Live buyers. Real conversations. Your brand in a room built to make it shine — with a founder story shoot, pre-event visibility, and a stall designed for handmade.

You leave with sales, content, and a name buyers already know.
stays with you
Step 02

Baksatales Marketplace

Your listing goes live on baksatales.com — a curated marketplace where buyers who found you at the event, and buyers who didn't, can find you year-round. The event gets you seen. The marketplace keeps you selling.

Passive discovery. Orders beyond the weekend. No booth fee.
grows with you
Step 03

Thinking in 3D Community

Dil Se Duniya Tak — a programme for makers who are ready to think beyond the stall. Brand positioning. Storytelling. Pricing that doesn't apologise. A peer community of founders building in the same direction.

Your story, sharpened. Your brand, built to last beyond any single event.
connects you
Step 04

Conscious India Marketplace

Deepesh Barua's platform for conscious brands — a curated marketplace and community connecting ethical, handmade makers with buyers who care about how things are made and why.

A second home for your brand — on a platform built for conscious commerce.
The People Behind It

Two forces.
One direction.

Kala Samāgam is not a cold-start event. It is the result of two organisations — each with years of work inside the handmade ecosystem — choosing to do something larger together.

Baksatales × Conscious India — two organisations, one shared direction

Baksatales

Founded by two women living the fauji life — carrying creativity across postings, rebuilding community in every new city, finding meaning in motion. For over a decade they have been working inside the handmade and artisan ecosystem, understanding what makers need and what buyers are really looking for. Baksatales was built on the belief that handmade deserves to be found, felt, and bought by the right people. The platform connects India's artisan ecosystem with buyers who value craft provenance — through events, content, and a marketplace that doesn't treat makers as inventory.

Dil Se Duniya Tak™
Conscious India

Founded by Deepesh Barua — a hotelier who walked away from a successful career after COVID to build something more meaningful. Conscious India emerged from that decision: a platform dedicated to independent makers, ethical brands, and intentional living. Through curated events and a growing online presence, Deepesh has been building a stronger, more equitable system for conscious commerce — one that takes the handmade economy seriously and creates real infrastructure around it.

Building the ecosystem, not just filling it

Two organisations. One shared belief: that a room full of the right makers and the right buyers — built with intention — changes what's possible for both. Kala Samāgam is that room.
